The fortress built on the mountain inches closer to completion every day. They have broken the cliff in order to make it harder to scale and placed powerful turrets along its side to decimate those who attempt to. The walls seem to be magically reinforced to deflect projectiles, and the gate reinforced to withstand physical attack. The shrine to the Caretaker still stands in front of its gate, it is unclear whether this was an intentional defensive measure or coincidence. 

What remains to be seen is if there was a greater purpose behind this fortress. The construction of it has taken quite a while, however, so I don't think it was for any imminent plans. It appears to be run by a soldier in a strange armor that doesn't seem to quite fit right.  I've overheard them talking about a second fortress and a large wall, but I am unsure for what end. 

This show of military force is concerning, though. Fortresses are rarely built for peaceful times, and I doubt this will be the exception.
