Shoggoth's death, a true dog's death
Started by Lachhiman

The Oozekin, leaking its membrane trying to stop Cessair from escaping. And gets dragged back, getting impaled by a vine, shattering its already cracked cores. The Oozekin gazes forward at the portal, trying to follow its last orders, slowly crawling as its mana depletes. Others run on top of its body, leaving it behind.

The Oozekin, with a fully cracked shell, lies there. A shredded, malformed, and liquid-like appendage reaching out slowly towards the portal. Seeing merely the remnants of mana left behind, fueled by false hope. It knows this, yet its hope of doing one last thing before it dies forces it to keep reaching.

Splash
The arm breaks apart, and the fish trapped within the Oozekin leap out. Swimming and flopping into the shadows.

The Oozekin lies there, with no core. Nobody around it. Not even the people it has helped throughout its existence. And mutters.

"I've treated you all with so much humility and humanity... I am not even a human, yet I treat you with such respect."

"I did what I could, thinking perhaps I would finally see you, proud captain. Perhaps even see me as kin, unlike the others whom called me nothing more than a dog."

The Oozekin begins drawing out a summoning circle.

"I wanted to be the sudden good guy, helping whoever was in need. Yet I do what I do now, hoping for lady luck to side with me, for anything to end up on my side."

The Oozekin's features begin to dissipate back into mana,  and the ritual circle evaporates as if it were denied. The first core, now long gone.

"Maybe they were right. Doing good for good's sake is nothing good. It just leads to death. Maybe following somebody with gratitude only brings a drawn-out death."

The shell of the Oozekin fully dissolves, with only the Ooze beginning to fizzle back into mana. The Oozekin, with its  mass once more, reaches outwards

"I just wanted to make sure you were safe and gained what you wanted."

The Oozekin gazes upon the illusory outline of its captain. It knows it is near oblivion, yet still cries out.

"Where are you, captain.."

The Oozekin begins to shrink as its body begins to dissolve like salt and a slug interacting. And it begins to cry as its last core dissolves.

"Please, captain.. I don't want to die. Please, no more of the darkness... Dredge me out of it once more.. Please, captain. Captain Svarog.. I just wanted to make you proud."

The Oozekin dies, not as a man, voidling, fae, humanoid, or anything of respect. Its plans failed due to the unexpected variables of the chaotic mad mage being a pacifist suddenly, with no enjoyment of chaos.  And of course, Treebane choosing to maintain possession of the least wounded person within the crowd of people. A majority of which was ironically not wounded.  On an island in the middle of the sea, where the Oozekin had evolved around and thrived in. Despite the Oozekin telling the sword to wait for the Oozekin.

It truly did seem, the fates truly wished for its death.

Citizens near the house witness a strange ambiance around the home, as if something lurked there. When neighbors went into the home, they saw nothing but a minor scuffle with tiny pieces of Vines strewn about.

[Btw Cores for Oozekin, are basically what make them run in general. Having cores made em intelligent and capable of running mana, which is basically their everything. Shoggoth losing em = true death. Don't even think Oozekin even has souls. They're made of Ooze and ambient mana.]

Character was running out of time, due to the change in whoever ran the body. Shoggoth knew it was on timer, and it knew it's captain wanted whatever rewards they could get. So it swam and marched, fought n bargained. Until it reached the end. Of course, until Treebane chose not to go with it, despite the clear higher benefit of doing so. This resulted in it getting captured. The said mage didn't want to create chaos when Shoggoth tried to convince the mage. Even though the mage was chaotic through and through, and has shown that as a fact nonstop.

Ah right, Shoggoth also told Treebane it would do what it wills, to just wait for them.

Tis was but a creature, dedicated to serving it's master no matter what. Unfortunately, fate said no thank you.

They've killed my boy ;_;

Amazing writing- Had it made a deal with Treebane last night?!! Kind of heartbreaking that Svarog gets to transform into something so high-and-mighty like a dragon and her dog that dedicated its life to her gets left to die not a few weeks after. Really wish I could've been there.

RIP Sho-Go-Oth <///33
