The surroundings of the slime core have now changed. The once-empty hall became a court, with a Vvurdeni strapped to a chair in its center.
Two humanoids are seen talking, one wearing armor of pure green and black. And another wearing a simple lab coat, with seemingly gauged-out eyes.
"I... This is not just. Why must we do this to a bo-"
"Because it will give him purpose. Do you wish to give him the tools and leeway to beg his kin for help? Killing us?"
The knight stays silent, gazing upon the boy. Upon closer interaction, it seems like the surface of the skull for the Ooze formed Vvurdeni was opened. As if core things regarding its existence were changed.
"Don't worry about revenge. I made sure he couldn't come back here, at least unless I want him to."
"What about the Archon then? There have to be other ways of curing the rot. Other ways that don't include the desecration of Father Planu."
"You wish to beg the Nether folk for trade? I doubt Netherna would ever present us with a fair deal. Considering we're surviving on cores given by a certain Deas."
The knight continues to stare at the Vohl
"Don't give me that face."
"I know how much you sympathize with the young Vvurdeni. But you seem to forget. I am in charge, and we're all that remains of our deaths or containment."
The Vohl pokes the knight's chest
"Your loyalty to Planu? Please. He left you and your original kin behind for new ones."
"So, denounce your loyalties. Denounce your past loved ones, listen to what I've spoken to you all since I took the throne. We are what history and family or society left behind."
"This is our kingdom, a new start for all of us."
The Vohl glances around
"Some of you may ask why I chose the Vvurdeni? Well, it's because he was raised by the Vvurdeni. If Ythrum denounces him, which he did. I wonder how he was created mh? A creature taught and raised by Vvurdeni. Perhaps a mutation, or some sort of magical disturbance, led to his creation. I doubt the ancient Vvurdeni of Vvurdenzel were that technologically advanced, when the most they had were runic slabs for armor."
"There is also his talent and attitude. I doubt most of us have that same burning passion after death, unlike the boy. He even ran to seek an audience with his god, looking for the remnants of his kind."
"So in short, none of us is as passionate as him. Simple as that."
"So, unfortunately. Let us try and see if Archon is awake, or if Planu is."
